Explanation of permissions required to run SeaStorm...

  • FULL INTERNET ACCESS:  SeaStorm must access the internet to retrieve the latest storm information and satellite imagery
  • MODIFY/DELETE USB STORAGE/SD CARD CONTENTS:  SeaStorm only uses external storage for the screenshot sharing function.  (Screenshots must be placed in an area where other applications are permitted to read them in order for sharing to work with as many other apps as possible)
  • PREVENT DEVICE FROM SLEEPING:  This allows SeaStorm to wake-up periodically to check for new or upgraded storm systems.  Note that this does not mean waking the screen, just the system in the background.
  • CONTROL VIBRATOR:  This allows SeaStorm to vibrate your device on new notifications
  • VIEW NETWORK STATE:  SeaStorm uses this permission to check if network connectivity is available
  • AUTOMATICALLY START AT BOOT:  This allows SeaStorm to start the background storm checker when your device is restarted.  SeaStorm delays any action for 30 seconds to avoid causing any slowdown during the boot process.
